Buckland St Mary C of E Primary School is delighted to announce it has bagged £10,000 from a Tesco funding scheme.
Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch the second round of its Bags of Help funding initiative, which sees grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – being awarded to local outdoor community projects.
Millions of shoppers voted in stores up and down the country. And it can now be revealed Buckland St Mary C of E Primary School has been awarded £10,000.
Work will now begin on bringing the project to life.
The community/school play equipment.
This is marvelous news for the school and the whole community. The play equipment on site is tired and not easily accessible to very young children. This award, along with our fundraising, will mean that our new play equipment area will enhance our children’s physical experiences while at play and during P.E sessions and be a centre for families to access throughout the whole year.
Hopefully you have all received your Christmas hamper raffle tickets to sell - please return these to either Daisy, Liz or Kate before the 15th December and good luck! We think we have at least 8 hampers this year including a cheese hamper from Silver St Dairy in Ilminster. Kind thanks to Karen Boarder for collating these for us.
Tickets will also be on sale this Saturday at the Christmas Fayre held at BSM Village Hall from 2pm.
Thank you for those who have offered their help for the Children's Christmas Party on the last day of term and those who have offered to serve mince pies and mulled wine at the Nativity Service. Please let us know if you can supply mince pies for the service on the 15th December - we are in need of as many as we can get as they got devoured pretty quickly last year!
Looking forward to hopefully seeing you at The Candlelight Inn for festive drinks and some carols on Thursday 8th December with the children - please share and like the event on Facebook.
FOBS festive drinks - all welcome Tuesday 6th December from 7.30pm The Candlelight Inn.
Have a good couple of weeks!
